Emily Jane LeBaron – formerly Emily Schacht, my first wife, mother of Blake and Stacy – died suddenly on Friday, May 3, in her home at Maplewood in Weston, Massachusetts. She will be sorely missed.
Emily relished sports – from skating to golf and tennis – as well her position as a young grader at the Harvard Business School, where we met sixty years ago in 1958, and her role as a mother and grandmother.
Donna and I are in Boston consoling family and celebrating Emily’s life. We return to Florida on Monday, May 6, along the way picking up Abby Sammons, who graduated from the University of Kentucky on May 3.
While we grieve the closing of one door, we pause to applaud the opening of others, especially for the younger members of our family.
